Life suddenly became very busy! Let me first say that I don't have a degree and thank goodness cause I hate being told I am not living up to my potential. Although, I have many friends and sisters and sisters -in-laws that do have degrees.
Let me just say this, I am so glad that I don't have to look to the approval of anyone else on this Earth to let me know whether I am achieving my potential or not. The only two people whose opinion matters in my life is my God's and my husbands! God has called me to be a wife and a mother. That is my potential. It is my job to be the best wife and mother that I can be. I think that my influence at home is incredible. We, as Moms, are raising the next generation of Christians. It is our job to teach them about God, about our beliefs and to teach them how to stand strong against the wordly influences of today. It is an overwhelming and scary job at times. Okay, a lot of the times! But with God all things are possible. We have to turn our children over to God every single day. Stay consistent(yep, I struggle with this one)! Honestly, I think that Moms have the most amazing job on this planet and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! Do I want to be able to go the bathroom by myself sometimes? Sure! But in the overall scheme of things, that is pretty small!
I also want to say that those Moms who end up having or choosing to work. I know that is your personal decision. This is nothing against you or your choose. I understand that being a stay at home mom is not for everyone. I am just really tired of the stigma attached with Stay At Home moms. The idea that we are brainless twits makes me just plain mad. Some of the smartest people I know are stay at home moms who make sure to learn something new every day with their children and find ways to stay in touch with the real world. The "real world" is really not all it is cracked up to be.
